Karen Garrett

Volunteer, Church of the Brethren

Karen is a member of the Church of the Brethren, currently a member of the Bear Creek church, Southern Ohio/Kentucky District. Karen has retired from public school teaching and is currently on staff at Bethany Theological Seminary as Coordinator of Assessment. She earned a Master of Arts at Bethany Theological Seminary in 2009. She focused her research on Brethren History during the nineteenth century. Karen has been interested in history from her childhood.
Karen’s responsibilities at the BHC include cataloging periodicals, organizing and inventorying used books for sale, working at the front desk as needed, and guiding tours of the center.

Brethren Heritage Center

The Brethren Heritage Center (BHC) is a historical archive for printed materials and artifacts connected to a variety of Christian groups that trace their roots to a specific group baptism in Schwarzenau, Germany in 1708.
