Julie Stickler

Board Member, Church of the Brethren

Following graduation from Northmont High School in Englewood, Ohio, Julie was offered a position with a bank in West Milton, Ohio. She completed 44 years in the banking world, beginning in the accounting department. After changing employers twice, and attending the Academy for Financial Executives as Ohio State, she ended her career at New Carlisle Federal Savings Bank as Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer.

One week after retiring in 2010, her friend, Don Bowman, a member of the Salem Church of the Brethren, approached her to volunteer at the Brethren Heritage Center. One year later, she interviewed with Larry Heisey at BHC and found her new beginning.

Julie’s responsibilities at the center include assisting the Treasurer with sales reports, balancing the cash drawer, preparing and delivering deposits to the bank. She also inputs member and contact information into the donor software system and prepares acknowledgment letters for members and donors.

Julie reports that after 9 years of volunteering at the center she still loves what she does and feel blessed to have been both a banker and now at BHC. God is good, she writes.
