Mark Lancaster is both a father and a husband. Joel, his oldest child, lives in Louisville, Kentucky with his wife, Rachel. Emma, his youngest child, is in Northmont Middle School in Englewood, Ohio. Barbara, Mark’s wife, is pastor of the Beavercreek, Ohio Church of the Brethren where Mark and Barb are members.
Most recently, Mark has been the Executive Director for Institutional Advancement at Bethany Theological Seminary. In addition to being the Executive Director for the Brethren Heritage Center, Mark will also continue at Bethany as the Assistant to the President for Strategic Initiatives.
Mark has been an executive director or lead staff in a variety of domestic and international organizations, having worked in many states and more than 20 countries. While at Bethany, Mark has been responsible for developing a unique educational partnership with EYN (the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria) and building a high tech educational facility there. Mark is the former chair of the board of Heifer International, regional director for American Friends Service Committee, CEO for the Seva Foundation and Philosophy and Religion professor at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD.
Mark and his family live on a small organic farm in Englewood, Ohio and he enjoys growing things, tending his animals and maintaining the farm buildings. He is an avid reader and enjoys long hikes with his black lab. He is a student of history and is constantly curious about other cultures and religious movements.
